Lata Mangeshkar left us on 06 February 2022, but even after her death, she still rules in the hearts of millions of people. With this, the gem has been awarded with prestigious awards like Dadasaheb Phalke, Bharat Ratna and many more. Recently another award will be awarded for the book "Lata: A Life in Music" made on Lata ji.
Actually, a book has been written on the life and times of late Lata Mangeshkar named "Lata: A Life in Music". The book has won the 64th National Film Award and MAMI Award (2016-17) for Best Writing on Cinema. Also, on the 93rd birth anniversary of late Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar, Penguin Random House India (PRHI) has announced that the book will be released early next year. Let us tell you that the book was originally written in Hindi by writer and poet Yatindra Mishra and later it was translated by renowned writer and translator Ira Pande. "Lata: A Life in Music" traces everything from both the personal and professional life of Lata ji.
According to media reports, Yatindra Mishra, the author of "Lata: A Life in Music", talks about winning the 64th National Film Award for Best Writing on Cinema and the MAMI Award (2016-17). Yatindra says that “Lata di is an artist of global repute; it has been a real honour to see this well-loved and awarded book find new readers in English”. On the other hand, the translator of the book Ira Pande also says that “to translate Mishra’s book while bringing forth the sweet purity of Lata Ji’s voice, her genuine humility and dedication to her music has been both a challenge and a joy”. Also, Chirag Thakkar the commissioning editor of Penguin Press, PRHI said “It is the go-to source to know more about the life story behind the most recognized voice across generations”. Talking about Nightingale, Lata Mangeshkar started her singing career in 1942 and has sung many songs in 36 Indian languages.
