Recently, his wife Sunita Ahuja opened up about this habit and expressed her disagreement with it. According to her, rituals performed by others don’t work; one must worship with their own hands.

Sunita revealed that Govinda spends huge sums on rituals whenever his well-wishers or astrologers suggest it. Speaking on a podcast, host Paras shared that there was a time he used to struggle with anxiety and consulted an astrologer because of fear and uncertainty. Reacting to this, Sunita said,

“There’s someone like that in my house too — Govinda. He does the same thing. Someone says, ‘Do this puja for two lakh rupees,’ and he agrees. I keep telling him — do your own prayers. The rituals done by others never truly work.”
