Now, director Siddharth Anand has finally reacted to the controversy.

Comparison with Brad Pitt’s Look

In King’s first poster, Shah Rukh Khan is seen wearing a blue shirt and a tan jacket — strikingly similar to Brad Pitt’s outfit in F1. The resemblance quickly divided social media users into two camps. While some called it a respectful homage, others labeled it a blatant “copy.” Memes flooded the internet as trolls targeted Shah Rukh for allegedly imitating Hollywood.

Director Siddharth Anand’s Reaction

Director Siddharth Anand has now responded to the debate, silencing the trolls in his own way. He commented on a post with a laughing emoji and an “OK” hand sign, where a user had written:

“If there’s a ship in a Bollywood film, it’s a copy of Titanic; if there’s a jet, it’s a copy of Top Gun; and now, if the shirt matches, it’s a copy of F1!”

Siddharth’s witty reaction made it clear that he considers these accusations baseless and is taking them in good humor.

What Shah Rukh Khan Said About ‘King’

Speaking on his birthday, Shah Rukh opened up about King, calling it one of the darkest and most complex characters of his career.

“The character of King is unlike anything I’ve done before — dark, violent, and mysterious. He doesn’t ask questions; he takes action. He kills without remorse and never apologizes,” the superstar revealed.

About the Film

King has been co-written by Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh, and is being produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures. The film is slated for release in 2026. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, the movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and Jackie Shroff.
